Behind the Sound

"Hot Rod" of Hot Rod Productions "HRP" Born in 88 is a native Memphian.

Born and raised in the south Hot Rod has brought to life his vision of Memphis and allows the audience to hear through his ears. Hot Rod has produced several amazing tracks and worked with several notarized artist' to include Charlie Baltimore, Starlito, Kia Shine, O.G. Boo Dirty and most notably Yo Gotti. Hot Rod began his musical journey in 2002, and began working under *Ball and MJG'S rap duo "Da Volunteer." It was the smash hit "Ballin In My J's" that gained Hot Rod his local success. Fast forward to May 2009 and Hot Rod helped break Yo Gotti on the major music scene with the smash record 5 Star Chick, which would eventually become certified gold via the RIAA association. The remix also included Gucci Mane, Lil Boosie, and Trina originally. Due to unfortunate circumstances Lil Boosie was taken off the record and replaced with the great Nicki Minaj. This would be her first national record as well as her first time on national television. Hers and Gotti's career would soon take off after the fact.
